Apprentices: Rail Coach Factory Recruitment 2024
Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board. They should also possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.
Procedure for calculating percentage of marks where cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is applicable:
- If a candidate has a CGPA of 7.4, they should first multiply 1.4 by 9.5, resulting in a percentage of 70.3% (i.e., 7.4 x 9.5).
- In the “Maximum marks in Xth Class” column, the student should fill in 1000 marks.
- In the “Marks obtained in Xth Class” column, they should put 700 marks.
For example, if a candidate’s marks obtained in matriculation are 70% and in ITI are 80%, then the percentage of both examinations will be (70+80)/2=75%.

Selection Process for Rail Coach Factory Vacancy 2024:
- Selection will be based on a merit list of all candidates who apply against the notification.
- The merit list will be prepared based on a percentage of marks in matriculation (with a minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade for which apprenticeship is to be done.
- The panel will be based on a simple average of marks in matriculation and ITI.
- For the percentage of matriculation, marks obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be considered, not based on marks of any specific subject or group of subjects. For the calculation of the percentage of ITI marks, marks mentioned in the provisional/final certificate will be considered.
- In case of two candidates having the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If the dates of birth are also the same, then the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
- A final merit list will be prepared trade-wise and community-wise, equal to the number of slots in descending order of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate, as stated above.
